Atlanta, GA- Warren Lanham Berry, 83, was promoted to the Church Triumphant on May, 24, 2017 after spending time at the Berry Beach House he loved in Cape San Blas, Florida. He is preceded in death by his mother Miriam Lanham Berry. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy, his children, Leslie and Jay Fortune of Sarasota, FL, Lan Berry of Headland, AL, and Laura Berry of Macon, GA. He was known as Daddy Warren to his grandchildren, Matthew Fortune of Kansas City, MO, Miriam Jason of Sarasota, FL, Mitchell and Alex Fortune of Charlotte, NC, Austin and Kristin Skelton of Tuscaloosa, AL, Lanham and Jamie Berry of Headland, AL, and to his great grandchildren, Savannah Fortune, Brandon Jason, and Ashlynn Jason of Sarasota, FL. He was Uncle Warren to Tommy and Jane Shaw of Newnan, GA, Susan and Randy Riner of Watkinsville, GA, Jimmy Shaw of Lavonia, GA, Cindy and David Weeks of Chapel Hill, NC, and their families.

Warren was born in Atlanta on August 17, 1933. He was raised in College Park attended College Park Presbyterian Church and graduated from College Park High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Presbyterian College where he remained active serving as president of their alumni association and building an outdoor chapel on campus.

Following his service as a lieutenant in the army, he began his career as a teller with the Citizens and Southern National Bank becoming Senior Executive Vice President of C&S over the branch banks in the state of Georgia at retirement. He completed the Program of Management Development at Harvard University.

He was a lifelong resident of Atlanta except during his tenure as President of the C&S Bank in Milledgeville, GA and as Executive Vice President of C&S Bank in Macon, GA. He served on the Board of Mercer Medical School, Cherokee Town Club and other charitable organizations. He played tennis competitively in the Southeast achieving National Ranking as a Senior. He loved playing golf with his friends and then replaying each hole afterwards! He was an enthusiastic Georgia professional and collegiate sports fan. He loved life, laughter, telling stories, and eating good food. He made a point of showing interest in others and exhibiting a positive attitude.

Warren was an active member of the Peachtree Presbyterian Church serving as an elder and an usher attending the Agape Sunday School class and working with missions. He enjoyed many trips with Nancy including mission trips to Africa, Pakistan, and the Holy Land.

Warren was the patriarch of the far flung Berry family who still gather back in Georgia for Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holidays. He loved his family and friends and but most of all he loved the Lord, Jesus Christ, living as an example of his faith as a child of God.

Visitation will be from 4PM to 6PM on Saturday, May 27 at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road NE, Sandy Springs. Burial will be at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs on Sunday, May 28 at 2PM followed by Celebration of Life Service at Peachtree Presbyterian Church 3434 Roswell Road at 3PM with a reception after at the church.
