Marvin Ray Akins, 82, of Fayetteville, GA, passed away March 22, 2017.
Marvin is survived by his sisters Gloria (Jack) Patterson and Peggy (Akins) Baker; brothers Charles (Sandra) Akins, Ward (Patricia) Akins, and Wayne (Jean) Akins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, GA. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park, GA. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear of Ray's passing we played together on CH\PS football team 1n the fifites. I was left half back and Ray was fullback. Ray was also out extra point kicker. We called him Toe.Bye old team mate. Ward Lawton class of 1954.

I am saddened about Ray's death. Although I didn't know Ray well, I was an admirer of him, and thought he was a very significant positive contributor to our class and to our society more generally.
