Noel Starr Smith (1955)

Pat and I lived across Walker Ave.from each other. He taught me to play tennis (City park two doors from him) and to fly model airplanes. One winter his dad bought the material to build a motorboat in the old garage. I helped him, and his dad told me I would be included on boat outings to Jackson Lake that summer. Many cold nights, hands cold and sore from using hand turned screwdrivers. We finished a fine boat. When time for the first trip, my dad told me I wasn't going out in any motorboat. Never went.

Lost touch with Pat. I wrote him a letter once, but got no reply.

Remember Pat real well we were in the same classes together and graduated in 1954.  Saw him the lass time at one reunion can't remember which one.  He was just a good guy.  Ward Lawton,  class of 1954.

Starr, So good to see your comments on Pat. He was one of my best school friends going thru 12 years with him. Unlike you I got to ride in the boat. The best I remember it had an older Mercury motor.  Mentioning the park across from Longino brings back many fond memories. Like Ward committed the last I talked with Pat was at the reunion or shortly thereafter. Take care.
