Donald Thompson-Born Oct. 26, 1935; Died April 15, 1988.
I could not have asked for a better big brother than Donald. Being 5 years older than me, he was my mentor until I reached my early twenties, afterwards he was my best friend. He played quarterback on the 1953 CPHS football team that went undefeated during the regular season losing out to Valdosta during the playoffs. He gave me a lot of advice and pointers which helped me during my high school football days. He was my role model.
In later times we spent a lot of time hunting and fishing together. After I married, he was always there for me whenever I needed him, including helping me to move several times.
He died in 1988 after a long bout with cancer. I still miss him dearly.
July 27, 2022 Was part of the old gang around Neely School and played football with Donald out of the backfield the years 52-53, 53-54 I'm the only one left Going to be hard to make that team now so many good players where Donald, Bunky and many others are now. Will be good to see them when i'ts time to Punt...,. Ward Class of "54.
