Jackie Glazier (Cleveland) - Class Of 1958

Jackie Glazier (Cleveland)

Jacqueline Glazier Cleveland 1940-2015

Jackie Cleveland went home peacefully to her God and her beloved Bron Cleveland on March 10, 2015. High school sweethearts in the 50s, Jackie attended College Park High School in Atlanta, and she and Bron enjoyed an endearing late-in-life marriage of nearly thirteen years where they celebrated her five stepchildren and three grandchildren. Jackie was of great and abiding faith, and the first page her Bible opened to their marriage certificate. Jackie was born in LaGrange, Georgia as the only child of James and Miriam Glazier, and then moved to Atlanta where she became an excellent pianist and ballroom dancer. Jackie graduated from The University of Louisville with a Bachelors of Science, and dedicated her career to teaching the 3rd grade children of Dekalb County, keeping up with them for life, and received many awards for her hard work. After Bron died, Jackie immersed herself in the life of her two Atlanta stepchildren, ever present, ever laughing, ever celebrating life's joys. Jackie is survived by her dear friends including those at Clairmont Place and Morningside Presbyterian; her stepchildren Kevin Cleveland and Kelli Mitchell, and David Cleveland of Memphis, Tennessee; Galen and Patty Chandler and their daughters Veronica and Olivia, of Farmington Hills, Michigan; Karen Cleveland and Robin Ward of Boone, North Carolina; and William and Angela Cleveland and their son Alexander of Atlanta, Georgia. A service was held on Saturday, April 11th at the Morningside Presbyterian Church, with a reception that followed.

I think it was about 7th grade that party games evolved into kissing games. Jackie was my first kiss. Two of the shyest kids in our class, I don't know who was more nervous. A very sweet memory. Very sweet girl. RIP Jackie.
