Eleanor Newton “Ellie” Perdue, 76, of Fayetteville passed away July 2, 2016.

President of both the PTA and Beta Sigma Phi International, Ellie was a born leader.  As a devoted wife and mother she instilled faith, integrity and courage into those around her.  She was an avid football fan who loved her family, her schnauzers and a great debate.  She was preceded in death by her life-long love and spouse, Charles William Perdue, her parents, two sisters and three brothers.  She is survived by her son, Glenn (and Cathryn) Perdue; her daughter, Kristi (and Tim) Hinkle; her grandchildren, Vanessa Perdue and Brittney (TJ and Anna Marie) Gordon; her brother, Mark Newton; and her sister, Barbara (and Ronnie) Merriman.  A memorial service will be held Saturday July 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Fayetteville, Ga. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eleanor to the American Cancer Society or The Humane Society are appreciated.
