Bev was one of the best -- her picture is on every page or so of our Aries -- the main reason the cheerleading squad drew a crowd even at practice. She's buried at Arlington National Cemetery. The photo, posted by her husband, reads, "Beverly Nichols, Mar 2 1940, Jan 3, 2005, wife of Lt. Col. Erik Larsen USMC."
I lived for a while at Parkaire Apartments on West Walker across the hall from Beverly's mother, so I saw Beverly occasionally. My job took me to Roanoke once in a while and Beverly invited me to visit her and her family when I went next time. I eagerly accepted. Her beautiful daughter, a student at George Mason University, picked me up in a convertable and drove us across the Virginia countryside to their home. It was a very nice house on a picture perfect farm, complete with rolling pastures and horses. We had a pleasant visit, a good meal, after which her daughter drove me back to Roanoke. A great experience.

Sad she left us so early.
Bye, Beverly, and thank you.
