Hard to realize that Stella is no longer with us. She was such a vivacious and spirited person in high school. Stella and Tony Fleming and me and my date, Bonnie Harden, went to see the Georgia-Georgia Tech freshman game together in 1957, and we all felt very grown up as high school freshmen going to see a college game. Stella was my vice-president when I was president of the 11th grade in 1958-59. We ran as the candidates of the Blue Party. Stella, Merilyn Canfield, Carolyn Newton, and I sang our campaign song "Juniors, Vote Blue," a ditty we had composed for the occasion, and we brought the house down with the dance routine Stella choreographed (everybody else used speeches, so, needless to say, we got elected). Our campaign routine was a take off on a rock group popular at the time named "Danny and the Juniors" (I was called Danny back then, so it made sense). I have so many good memories of Stella and how she brightened a room with her personality, too many to mention here.
