 Ruth Ann Fields Shannon, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 11, 2019.
Ruth was retired from Delta Air Lines and a member of Unity Baptist Church in Newnan, GA.
She is survived by her daughter, Lea Shannon Wainwright Spell; son, Jeffrey Donald Shannon; brother, Tommy (Dorothy) Fields; grandchildren, Todd (Sydni) Wainwright and Travis Wainwright.
A funeral will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Unity Baptist Church. Burial will follow at College Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City.

Ward Lawton (1954)
So sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. I knew her brother Tommy well during high school days at College Park High School. Ward Lawton, class of 1954. Those were wonderful days in the 50s and 60s.
Dan Bruce (1960)
Ruth Ann was always available to help with extra-curricular projects. As student council president in 1959-60, I knew that I could count on her to show up with a smile on her face and a joyful attitude, ready for whatever chore was at hand. She was one of my favorite underclassmen that year. I'm sure she lived her life in the same way, upbeat and cheerful. Sorry to read about her death at such a young age. My condolences to her family.
