I had the privilege of knowing Lynn since my early grammar school years at Newton Estates. We were both active in the same Methodist church…..both of us were in the choir; both played the piano; both very active in the MYF & the same Sunday school classes. We enjoyed other activities together including our Girl Scout troop…Connie Patton’s mother was our wonderful scout leader. We enjoyed mutual friends (including Jeanne Moon, Martha de Jarnette, Carroll Connally, Verline Privett & many others at various functions throughout the years). Despite her beauty, brains, talent, popularity….Lynn was always a modest, kind, & humble friend to all that knew her. Shortly before her shocking death, I had a group of old girl friends at my home in Marietta. I remember the last thing she ever said to me as she was leaving my home. I had just complimented her on her adorable short haircut & said she was even more beautiful than when we were in high school. Embarrassed by my “goody-bye” comments, she humbly only said ”oh, I’m just an ol’ married lady now”. She was so much more than she ever realized. We all miss her to this day. Rest in peace, Lynn.
