Patsy Ann Flanagan - Class Of 1966

Patsy Ann Flanagan

Patricia Ann Amerson

Patricia Anne Amerson 73, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 10, 2021.

Born Patricia Flanagan, “Patsy,” as her friends and family called her, had an infectious laugh, a love for encouraging others with cards, and a quirky sense of humor.

A 1965 graduate of College Park High School, Pat was the daughter of Wesley Carlton and Johnnie Victoria Flanagan and “Lil sis” to Larry. She worked for 40 years in the airline industry for Southern, Republic, and Northwest, retiring in 2005 to spend time with her grandkids.
Pat was a long-time member of Tara Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She enjoyed her time there with her Sunday School class and ladies ministry, where she made life-long friends who taught her great things about friendship and love. Pat was infamously known for her personal ministry of sending cards to friends and family, ranging from birthday and anniversary to Groundhog and Arbor Day celebrations. (Really!) Anyone who received these acts of affection in the mail felt her smile and kindness shine through in each card!

Pat is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Scott) Brown of Fayetteville; son, Michael (Lee Ann) of Covington; grandchildren, Destiny, Jacob, and Molly Avery, Aaron, Andrew, and Avery Brown; great grandson Chad Aguilera; brother, the Rev. Larry (Linda) Flanagan of Dalton; niece, Bridgette Poag; and nephews, Larry Jr. and Troy Flanagan and families.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Tara Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Pastors Ron Little and Larry Flanagan will officiate. A visitation for family and friends begins at 10 a.m.

The family respectfully asks that those who feel comfortable attending during the pandemic please wear a mask and keep CV19 protocols in mind as some in the family may be easily compromised. Attendees will be given the opportunity to briefly speak of the impact “Patsy” had in their lives if they desire. Feel free to watch the service live-streamed at facebook.com/tarabaptistchurch.

In lieu of flowers, call your family and friends and tell them what they mean you, or better yet – send them a card.
