Helen Bartlett McWhorter of Smyrna, GA, passed away February 6, 2015. A resident of Smyrna for over 50 years, Helen graduated College Park High School, and attended Truett-McConnell College where she met her husband Jim. She was a Bible teacher, artist, public speaker, loving mother, proud grandmother, and devoted wife. A member of Church of the Apostles, she previously attended Mt. Paran Church of God and operated the bookstore. She also taught Sunday school at First Baptist Smyrna. Helen is survived by her husband, James D. McWhorter Jr; daughter Kathleen McCook and husband Don; son Keith McWhorter; and grandchild Caitlin McCook. A celebration of her life took place on February 8, 2015, at Castellaw Funeral Home in Smyrna; Interment followed at College Park Cemetery.
