Mickey Littlefield - Class Of 1964

Mickey Littlefield

On October 17th, 2016 the world lost a whole lot of sparkle; sparkle that began 70 years before on January 17th, 1946. That's the day, THE day Byron Willis Littlefield was born. His beloved grandmother, "Mama" quickly decided he was more of a "Mickey." College football was the most "important, non important thing in his life." His last text message he talked about that love. Love was the dominant theme of Mickey's life. First, his love for Christ, then for the adoring love of his life, Margaret and three "only children," his friends were next and then - a job as a State Farm agent he said he loved until the very end. Helping people in their times of need, that's why he loved it. A history major at UGA, he made history; the first in his family to graduate college, he was a leader. A leader to his beloved classmates at College Park High School, to his community as school board chair and to his children who idolize him, along with dozens of their friends. His gregarious, grateful, driven, loving and magnetic personality will be deeply missed, as will his famous heaping bowls of cheese grits.

Mickey will live on through his bride of 43 years, Margaret Williamson Littlefield, his children Susan-Elizabeth, Victoria, Matt and son-in-law Philip Pou. He is also celebrated by his brother Barry and sister-in-law Gayle, their son B.J, sister-in-law Judy Hartley, brother-in-law Don Hartley, nieces and nephews Donnie, Jenny, Beth, Jennifer, Cris and Javi and their beloved children, Madison, Annabelle, Ty, Finn, Sarah Beth, Ellie, Emma, Javier, Jr., Jude and Lilah.

Saturday you are invited to do something he loved and gather together to "visit." First we will praise God for his sparkling life at 11 am at First Presbyterian of Peachtree City, then we will stay there and do what he would want us to do on a Saturday in the fall, tailgate together over Varsity Hot Dogs. If you can't make it, we'll stream it live at http://livestream.com/firstpresptc/11AMService

Instead of flowers, consider honoring Mickey by giving to two charities he loved:
Southwest Christian Care www.swchristiancare.org/hospice
The Children's Village at Christian City

I served on two reunion committees with Mickey as chairman. He led the groups in a very efficient and pleasant manner, and it resulted in the great reunions we have had. I am very sad to see him go.
