Marlene Blosz (McLarin)

Marlene Blosz McLarin, 77, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on September 28, 2011, in Atlanta, GA. A memorial to her life was held in Atlanta, GA for family members. Following cremation, her ashes were scattered in the north Georgia mountains. Marlene was born September 19, 1934, to John and Louella Blosz. She graduated from College Park High School in 1952, and later attended the University of Georgia. She married Richard Eugene McLarin while in college. She moved to Texas in 1983. She was the manager of Colonnade Apartments for 16 years. Marlene took delight in her grandsons and was very proud of the girls they selected to marry. She had a new reason for joy with the birth of twin grand sons Aiden and Ethan. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and son- in-law, John Caffery; grandson, Christopher Johnson and his wife, Audrey; and great-grandsons, Aiden and Ethan; grandson, Jonathan Johnson and his wife, Katie; sister, Betty Johnson; nieces, Debbie Hamby and husband, Mike, Sharon Dye and husband, Steve; great nieces and nephews, Curt Hamby and wife, Kelley and children, John Michael and Kailee, Ashley Cribb and husband, Kevin, Allyson and Richard Thacker and sons, Cole and Lance, Kristin Dye, Katie Dye, and Kelli and Brad McLaren; and nephews, David Jordan and Travis Jordan. She was predeceased by brother, John Clifton Blosz and sister, Helene Blosz. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Beaumont, TX, on Sunday October 16, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. The family would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Scott McKinney of Texas Oncology, for the loving care he provided for Marlene for many years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Marlene's name. Marlene's life can be described with the words dream, believe, love, and act.
