Noel Starr Smith (1955)

Bobby worked at Gordy Pharmacy and always had money. I had no money but had access to the family car. My father kept up with the Stratton Brothers bill, so I was careful about how much I drove. I would provide rides to some of my friends, which included Bobby. He liked June Sorrells, who lived on E. Rugby. Every night when Bobby was in the car, he would have me drive around June's house, and hand me a dollar or two which in those days would pay for the night's gasoline!! Good deal.

My wife and I visited Bobby and his family, including " Meemaw" at Key Largo. A good visit, the last. He would not attend the reunions, and he died too early.
