Dewitt was a quiet boy who surprised us sometimes. He worked a paper route and one day showed up at school in a 40 (I think) Ford coupe, in those days a very desirable car. Later he bought a 4 passenger airplane which he flew himself. He and his wife Mildred took me and my wife June on a trip to north Georgia, over Lake Lanier and my birthplace outside Cornelia. We were very grateful.
