Christine "Chris" Oliver Tuso Obituary

Christine Oliver Tuso, 86, wife of Gerald Tuso, Sr., went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 21, 2026. Born in Dallas, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Regina Farrell Oliver.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 67 years, Gerald Tuso, Sr.; daughter, Rev. Leslie Daniels; sons, Gerald Tuso, Jr., and Joe Tuso (Zuzana); as well as eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Chris was known to all as someone who readily embraced all who crossed her path. Her warm-hearted care was felt by those who entered the Church office in Hurst, Texas, where she was Church Secretary for many years. Most recently, Mrs. Tuso was a member of Mauldin Methodist Church.

In every Church she attended, she was either in Bible Study, or teaching the Bible. She was a gifted teacher and dearly loved studying God's word. A highlight of her life was being the Lay Leader on a Walk to Emmaus Weekend.

Chris was a Hospice volunteer while living in Ellijay, Georgia, and continued to visit the elderly until she became ill late last year. Chris was also a Master Gardener; turning everything she touched greener or more lovely. Many were blessed to know her amazing cooking. She loved cooking for any special occasion, and always made a cake for family birthdays.

The main love of her life, besides Jerry, was her children, grandchildren, and her 2 great-grandchildren. She attended many dance recitals, graduations, and school programs, all with great joy. "Joy" was her favorite word, followed by "Grace." She will be dearly missed by many.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Mauldin Methodist Church followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
