Howard Theodore Belcher

Sergeant Howard T. Belcher, College Park Police Department, retired, 82, of East Point, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Howard was a Veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, and after retiring from the City of College Park he went to work as a Security Officer for Woodward Academy. Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McBurnett Belcher, and a stepson, Mike Thomas, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kellie & Mike Lockett; stepchildren, Rick Thomas, and Tracy Thomas; sisters, Glenda Chapman, Shirley Lanyon, and Diane Mullins; a sister-in-law, Hazel McBurnett Doty, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and his granddog, Tassie. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13th in our chapel, with Elder Tim Mullins officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at Donehoo-Lewis Funeral Home, Hapeville. 404-761-2171
