KENNEDY, Robert "Bob" Charles

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Charles Kennedy who died peacefully on January 9, 2025, at his home in Acworth, Georgia. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 16, 1940. Bob lived a life defined by gratitude, integrity and kindness. He was 84. Bob was raised in College Park, Georgia, graduated from College Park High School (1958) and earned a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech (1962). He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army (Captain, Chemical Corps, 1962-1965). Professionally, he retired after a 30-year career as an aircraft engineer at Delta Airlines (1964-1994) and worked post-retirement for Chick-fil-A at their corporate offices know as the Support Center (2009-2017). Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ann Kennedy Kennedy (2018); and their son, Stuart Samuel Kennedy (2003); and brother, James Attaway Kennedy, Jr. (2024). Bob is survived by his son, Alan (Allison) Kennedy; his two cherished granddaughters, Lilah Kennedy and Norah Kennedy; sisters-in-law, Jean Kirbow and Louise Kennedy; cousin, Alan (Barbara Miles) Edwards; and nieces and nephews, David (Kathy) Kennedy, Diane (Alex) Reddick, Derek (Amy) Kirbow, and Jeff (Becky) Kirbow. He is also remembered by many great-nieces and nephews who were dear to him. Bob spent his years not only dedicated to his family, but also committed to his community serving in many organizations including holding a Board seat at Christian City, an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, a volunteer at the Georgia Aquarium, and as a Deacon at Cedar Crest Church in Acworth. When not serving, he cherished time spent at the family lake house with loved ones, creating many lasting memories. He was known for his kindness, generosity, a calm and quiet demeanor, and his genuine love for those around him. He was a role model to many and he leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and compassion. Bob Kennedy will be buried in College Park Cemetery in a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choosing. May Robert Charles Kennedy rest in peace, knowing the profound impact he has made on all of us.

Bob was a great guy. He was quiet but fateful. RIP Bob..

Thomas Marshall Miller (1958)

Bob Kennedy's death was a shocker to me, coming only 7 weeks after that of his good friend David Mason.  I remember when Bob and David bought a Model A Ford while at CPHS.  I was envious because it was such an unusual car.  Bob was everything the obituary says, a real gentleman.
