Thomas Gerald "Jerry" Wilson, age 82 of Young Harris, Georgia passed away peacefully after an extended illness Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Jerry was born April 11, 1940 to the late Tom and Mattilu (Summers) Wilson in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a member at Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church. Jerry graduated from College Park High School and then attended Georgia Tech and South Georgia college as well. He served in the United States Army then worked and retired from the Salvation Army. He loved to travel, play golf and was always up to square and round dance. He really enjoyed bowling and to make that even better he met his lovely wife Suzanne while bowling.

Jerry volunteered and served in many capacitates at EHUMC in Chamblee, Georgia. After moving to this beloved mountain home in Young Harris he joined CLEA, The Lions Club and volunteered many years at the Anderson Music Hall.  

He is preceded in death by his above mentioned parents; sister and brother in law, Bill and Myrtle Arden.

Jerry is survived in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Suzanne (Robertson) Wilson; brother, Les (Sally) Wilson; sons, Richard (Kristen) Bell of Snellville, Tom (Lorrie) Wilson of Snoqualmie, WA ; grandchildren, Rachael Bell, Max Damaschke, Sophie Roffman, Elle Wilson, Nolan Wilson; brother and sister in laws, Bill and Shirley Robertson; numerous and much loved nieces and nephews and dear friends which are too many to mention by name and his little fur baby and constant companion, Pogo.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
