Mr. Roy Kimsey "Kim" Gabrels, 77

Roy Kimsey “Kim” Gabrels, 77, of Flowery Branch passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Pinson will officiate. Interment will be held in College Park Cemetery, College Park, GA at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27 from 4 -7 p.m.

Born on January 29, 1941 in College Park, GA Kim was the son of the late Roy and Naomi Gabrels. Kim was retired from the commercial Real Estate Business. He was a member of Chicopee Methodist Church and the College Park Masonic Lodge 454.

Kim will be remembered as a man who fought for the underdog, made many friends wherever he went, made a lasting impression, and a man with a generous spirit and infectious laugh.

Kim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dotty of Flowery Branch; son, Cory Gabrels (Traci) of Duluth; daughter, Keva Gabrels Yurtkuran of Buford; son, Jason Gabrels (Danielle) of Buford; grandchildren, Avery and Fisher Gabrels, Abigail and Zeke Yurtkuran, Tristan and Kadyn Gabrels; sister Becky Gabrels Pierce (Woody) of Fayetteville and numerous relatives and friends.

Flowers are accepted but contributions can be made to Chicopee United Methodist Church, 3 First Street Chicopee, Gainesville, GA 30504

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.

Billy Fisher (1959)

 Kim was a remarkable Person , he  had a remarkable life, he was our class leader it hard to believe he is gone. Such a fine fellow like him he is an icon that  you ever rarely meet and will be sorely missed.

Jimmy Graham (1959)

Kim and talked regularly for the past few years, and I will miss his remembrances.

Bob Miller (1959)

Kim was a genuinelly nice person. Those of us (including me for sure) on the football team who were not at all talented were treated fully by Kim as if we were real contributors.
