
Ms. Anne Groover Williams, age 82, of Locust Grove, GA, died Wednesday, May 22, 2024, under the care of Southern Grace Hospice and surrounded by her family. A native of College Park, GA, Ms. Williams was born July 16, 1941, the daughter of the late Calton Wiley Groover and Cora Helen Bryant Groover. Ms. Williams retired from the Fulton County Board of Education with over 30 years of dedicated service. She continued working after retirement in retail where she was well known as being kind, dependable, and genuine. Her dedication to her family dictated most of her social activities, never missing birthday parties, recitals, ball games, etc. She also enjoyed working in her yard, watching golf, and attending services at Rock Springs Church in Milner, GA.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ms. Williams was held Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Providence Church Chapel at Rock Springs Church with Pastor Cameron Shiflett officiating. A family interment service followed at College Park Cemetery in College Park, GA.
Ms. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen Hicks of Americus, GA, and Jean Dare of Jacksonville, FL; and two brothers, James Groover of Stone Mountain, GA, and Douglas Groover of Dade City, FL. Survivors include her three daughters and their husbands, Lisa (Drew) Walston of McDonough, GA, Leslie (Rick) Jeffares of Jackson, GA, and Lori (Mark) Cantrell of Charlotte, NC. Ms. Williams had 7 grandchildren, Adam (Tracy) Walston, Brooke (Dave) Sevigny, Lauren (Edwin) Parra, Alex Jordan, Sara (Aoon) Lahpong, Lillian Cantrell, and Cameron Jeffares; and 8 great-grandchildren, Stellan Sevigny, Jaimie Sevigny, Jenna Rowland, Ali Phillips, Chloe Parra, Summer Parra, and Preston Parra.
The family suggests that Memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or Southern Grace Hospice.
