Cecil "Gene" Eugene Langford
December 3, 1941 – April 16, 2018
Cecil "Gene" Eugene Langford, age 76 passed away on April 16, 2018. Gene was a thoughtful and kind hearted friend, husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed playing golf at Arrowhead Country Club with his fellow members, taking his wife and family on traveling adventures which typically included shopping, and he loved spending time at the beach. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Myrtis H. Langford; his daughter, Renee Langford Ellis and her children, Will and Emily Ellis; his son, Charles Eugene Langford (Lina); and his children, Clint and Charly Langford. The family would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Gene has been a lifelong friend. Although there were times that we did not see each other for several years, we stayed in contact. He has been one of my closest and dearest friends. We are like brothers. Dennis Thompson
Carl Cartledge (1959)
I am sorry to learn of Gene's passing. I considered him a friend in high school and always enjoyed his company. One incident I'll never forget happened in the 9th grade in math class. The two of us plotted a prank where all the class would throw a textbook on the floor at a given time. It went off with a "bang," angering I'm sure our teacher Mr. Eaves. Well Gene ended up getting detention hall but he wasn't a rat and didn't tell anyone I'd been a co-conspirator. Gene never mentioned it but now 63 years later I remember it as though it was yesterday. My prayers are with Gene's survivors.

So saddened to hear of Gene's passing . Will miss he & Myrtis at our 2018 reunion. CPHS class of '59 lost another good one
