Mary Nell and I (and my sister, Jane Croley Spradlin) were next-door neighbors for a decade. Her brother was Jerry. She, like her mother, was one of the sweetest, kindest individuals I have known in my life. She never had a harsh word for anyone, even a spoiled, bratty little thing such as I may have been. On the other side of me was the McLendon Family: Tommy, Harris and Margaret. Across the street was Delores Torbush. Only three of us remain (Margaret, Tommy and me), but I will forever remember my wonderful childhood neighborhood.
