Obituary for Thelma Jean Westbrooks

Thelma Jean McFarland Westbrooks, 78, of Griffin, wife of Gary Wayne Westbrooks, died Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Wellstar Spalding Hospital.
Born in Greenville, OH, November 25, 1943, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Delores Wallischeck McFarland. Mrs. Westbrooks was retired from Kraft Foods where she worked over eighteen years and later worked as Office Administrator with her husband’s company Steel Depot Metal Building Systems. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joyful Hearts Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Westbrooks was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny McFarland.
Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty-one years are three daughters, Donna Lynn Gable and husband Mike of Greenville, Diana Carol Gatheridge and husband Jason of Fayetteville and Susie Lee Delong and fiancé, Brian Reece of Concord; a son, Chris Westbrooks and wife Karen of Griffin; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Combs and husband John Paul of Hiram and Sandra O’Neil of Locust Grove; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur baby, Bear.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 9, 2022, at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend John Nance officiating. Burial will follow in Westwood Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday from 3:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church Children’s Ministries, 100 Lakeside Drive, Williamson, GA 30292.
