I grew up next to Karen and her family on Oak Street in College Park. She was a really sweet girl who had lots of patience with me, her younger sister's friend.
She was involved in a car accident when she was around 19 and her passing left a sadness in the neighborhood. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in College Park and was very loved by her family and friends.
I have so many good memories of Karen, my best friend growing up. We lived next door to the Banks, family....so blessed in that Karen was my age, Marilyn was Wanda, my sis, age, and Malvy is Joe's age. Each of us had a good friend to play with. Malvy is the only sibling still living, and Joe stays in touch with him.
Karen and I loved to play with paper dolls when we were young...we also played school in the back yard. In the summer, we caught lightening bugs, played Red Light, and Hiding Go Seek. Many happy times together. Karen had such a sweet disposition. An early, sad ending for my friend.
