 William Donald (Don) Barnes, age 57, of College Park, GA, passed away January 27, 2014, at the Atlanta Medical Center.
He was born in Cordelle, Georgia, to Mary Lizzie Eubanks and Julius Carl Barnes. He was an audio computer technician for Panasonic Avionics. He was a veteran of the US Navy and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his mother, Mary Lizzie Gilbert of College Park; son, Cody Allen Wayne Barnes of Lagrange; sisters, Wanda Carol Hawthorne of Griffin and Valarie Ann Narcisse of Savannah; and granddaughter, Kathleen Eubanks of College Park.
A funeral service was held, Friday, January 31, 2014, in the chapel at Holly Hill Funeral Home, 431 SW Broad Street, Fairburn, GA. Pastor Joe Durham officiated. Interment followed at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family will received friends and relatives on January 30, 2014.

Some of my fondest and happiest memories of high school took place during Mrs. Cates Biology class. Having Donald as one of my good friends in that class is one of the reasons it was special to me. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met, a true gentleman. He had a great laugh, one that would make you always smile or even crack up laughing, too! He was a great guy, kind and funny; and, I am very sad to hear of his passing!
