I remember going to Larry's home on Sunday afternoons and watch the wonderful CBS series

"Victoty At Sea" narrated by Walter Cronkite with Larry and his family. We lost touch when he went to

UGA and I went to work for Southern Railway.

Larry Lancaster became my friend the year before entering CPHS when Ballard Powell(1956) and Ronny

Persall(1956) introduced us.  We remained friends 40-plus years until his death.  He talked me into going

out for football even tho I had severe chronic asthma ( asthmatics weren't allowed to play, had to lie to my

parents and Coach Badgett) , where I was his "back-up"and then breaks my nose in the "Blue-White" game

of 1955.....BUT he did let me sleep off graduation night at his house when we returned to CP after my curfew

and I was afraid to go home!  Still miss him....gratefully made it to graveside services for him and shared a

few moments wth his sister Sylvia and brother Clinton. One of a kind, a natural .
