Marilyn and I had several classes together throughout our time at CPHS. She had a friendly and kind disposition accented by a great smile, concern for others, and love of life. We laughed a lot!! It saddens me to know she has been taken from us so early. However her memory lives on for those of us who called her friend.
Marilyn and I were both saved during a revival service at Harrison Rd. Baptist Church. I went down first and she came down a few mintues later. I am sure that was a shock to her family as they were Catholic. I remember Marilyn and I spent one Easter Sunday sitting in the car in College Park Cemetery during Church services because we suddenly decided not to be part of the Easter Sunday fashion show. Mind you, this was after we rode the bus to Rich’s where we bought our Easter dresses. No one ever saw our new dresses, at least not that Sunday.
