Obituary of Jack Patterson Longino

A private memorial service for Jack Patterson Longino, age 67, of Wedowee, formerly of College Park, Ga, will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Benefield Funeral Chapel in Wedowee with Rev. Jim McRae officiating.

A public memorial service will be held on September 11, 2021, in College Park, Georgia.  The time and place will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Longino passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Bruce Longino of Wedowee; his mother, Rosemary Longino of Union City, GA; two daughters, Jessica Woodring (Michael) and Whitney Owens (Brannon), both of Newnan, GA; five grandchildren, Brylee, Kaylee, Brooks, Gunner, and Hadlee; and three brothers, Steve Longino of Alpharetta, GA, Bill Longino (Leigh) of Cumming, GA, and Paul Longino (Cathy) of College Park, GA.

A College Park, Georgia native, Mr. Longino was born on November 6, 1953, the son of Ira and Rosemary Marcouq Longino.  He was a self-employed auto mechanic and served as the mayor of College Park, Georgia, for 24 years.  Mr. Longino enjoyed his boats and cars, the lake life, and spending time with his grandkids.  He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Charles Longino.

William Hugh Howard, Jr (1971)

Jack was my best friend for life since I met him a CPHS in coach cunninghams class.We remained best friends until Covid took him last august 2021. We borh lived in Wedowee Alabama. Not a week ever went by we did not stay in toch for all those years, He lived with me at the Saraha club apts for about a year when I was 20 years old, and when My house urnt down in Peachtree city I lived at his house for 3 months,,I was his best man at his 1st marrage,  he was my best man at my 1st marrage...When I was 21 ,he was 20 we loaded up him mons sation wagon with all my camping gear and he and I tool a month long trop in september all across the USA, all the way down the south coast, to calf, up to orgian to Las vegis, to grand canon and on the way back we bought 40 cases of coors beers to bring back,  you could not buy coors in Ga at that time lol.. whe Jack died, I took in his senior dog he rescued at Lake wedowee called "whte foot" shes still here with me at my cage free

I really miss my best friend, he was my brother I never had. Gods Speed Jack,  I will see you again. Photo is Jack and Daisy his dog he took to work with him every day,  died of cancer
