Jonathan Edward Allen

August 23, 1961 - August 19, 2017

Jonathan was the youngest child of Jacquline Clark Allen and the late John Hollis Allen. He is survived by his brother Richard Clark Allen and his sister Susan Allen Norton, his nieces Julia Allen (Jay) Steele, Courtney Suzanne Norton, Emily Claire Allen, nephew Jacob Henry Allen, and a great niece Fern Estelle Steele. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Bobby (Stan) Norton.

The Allen family has resided in College Park, GA for over a century. Jonathan was born to John and Jackie Allen in 1961 and was raised in College Park like his father. He attended College Park First United Methodist Church. He graduated from Longino Elementary School and College Park High School. Jonathon was a high spirited, fun-loving child that his classmates loved. However, he kept his teachers on their toes.  Jonathan was a movie buff. He was a virtual encyclopedia on movies, actors and actresses. He even worked at Phipps Plaza Theater to have access to the new releases. Another job he enjoyed was when he worked for an in flight food service company where he loaded meals on aircraft. His last job, which he held for over eight years, was with Geiger International Furniture where he worked as a craftsman making office furniture.  Jonathan enjoyed making people laugh and had a good heart. He was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23rd at College Park First United Methodist Church, 3726 East Main Street, College Park, GA 30337, with Reverend Joe Guidry officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sleep Apnea research at Donate-SleepApnea.org.
