Joseph Thomas

Well, let's see, here. After graduating from CPHS I headed to Carbondale, Illinois, to major in photography at Southern Illinois University. Between my sophomore and junior years I met and married Beverly (Bee) Shifflett who was a friend of my sister Sandy who lived in Charlottesville, Virginia.
We went to Carbondale but my schooling was interrupted by a four-year tour in the Air Force as a still photographer. During that time my first son Joseph II was born.
When I finished my tour we returned to SIU and I finished my degree in Cinema/Photography. We moved to Atlanta and after a couple of jobs unrelated to film/photography I began work as a First Assistant Cameraman on movies, TV shows and commercials. I retired on January 1, 2016. I still do the occasional day or two on commercials, movies & TV shows.
