I have fond memories of playing with Genie in elemantary school. She was always a sweet person. I didn't have very many classes with her in high school. I do remember the 1985 class reunion and Genie was the prettiest lady there. It is sad that she is gone but I know many lives are richer because she was here.
My sister Genie was a successful musician and oboe teacher when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in December 1997. On her 50th birthday, she learned the tumor was melanoma. She died Jan 22, 1998. It was a devastating loss to our family and to the many lives she had touched, especially her students. Her two sons are both professional musicians as is her grandson. I hate that she will never get to know him but also that he will never know her warm sweet spirit and unforgettable laugh. I miss her everyday.
