Great memories of many friends at CPHS! Life growing in College Park was a rich life experience - baseball & football for years, hanging with friends, working after school jobs (Kroger & paper route), church (Harrison Road Baptist), Friday nights with my mom & brother going by bus to the Fox & Rialto theaters, getting fountain Cherry Cokes, taking footlong sandwiches to the Roosevelt drive-in as a kid & then when dating, cruising through Shoneys for fun & even running out of gas once, bluelights, watching planes in the early days of Atlanta airport, experiencing the emotions of the day JFK was shot beginning with hearing the news while in ROTC & then school being dismissed, & everyday fun at CPHS.

Hearing of Herb's passsing brings me sadness, smiles from memories of long ago, and even gives me pause. Yes, I pause partly at missing opportunities to connect with Herb in recent years. We missed connecting after by chance in crossing electronic paths a few years ago, but as we were both moving and couldn't get together, time slipped away and we failed to connect face to face, and that makes me sad. Herb was such a good friend in my SR Young school days - lots of fun times together, mostly boys exploring the world and day dreaming. After all this was all during the time of rabbit ears on black TV's, climbing trees and no computers and video games! I still have happy memories of steamed milk, with cinnamon/sugar/toast that his Mom wold make for us on sleep overs at Herb's house. Unfortunately we drifted apart through High School years and then adulthood. I lift up prayers for God's favor to cover Nancy and family in this difficult time. Dallas Rodgers
Sorry to hear of some old and sad news. Wishing a very belated but heartfelt condolence to friends and family from a good friend of Bobby crafting words to convey mortal feelings for the immortal moment we Segway into eternity! Bobby has gone on before the rest of us who await that same ultimate destiny, and I pray an imagination of laughs and smiles from Bobby as he waits for us. Missing you old friend, and relishing some fond memories.
