attended New College, Sarasota, Fla., for 1 year; played in a blues band that toured the Southeast; attended University of Georgia; formed the Bill Mizelle Quartet, played around Athens for 2 years; played jazz in Atlanta; joined a touring band, played in Arabia, Puerto Rico, Tahoe, Reno, New York...; attended Georgia State University - graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Math - won Mathematics Award, GSU; worked for Lockheed as a programmer; worked at National Data Corporation as systems programmer, manager and manager of data communications programming; became independent contractor - worked for Rockwell and Tandem and Alcatel; lost some use of hands, obtained various grants to study math at University ofTexas at Dallas and Georgia StateUniversity; played solo saxophone until my right retina fell out; 9 operations later can see very well; currently recovering from 3 types of arthritis, anticipating comeback as saxophonist as soon as I can walk ( after knee replacement).
