James   "Jimmy" Vernon Jackson 26473758

James V. Jackson, (Jimmy) age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022. He was born on Tuesday, February 13, 1934, in College Park to Walter and Lillian Jackson.

After graduating from College Park High School, he joined the Armed Forces. He married his wife, Shirley, on March 14, 1959. He worked at the College Park Post Office for 30 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Shirley, his daughter, Tracy, married to David Tankersley, two grandchildren, Troy, and Kaitlyn, as well as a great granddaughter, Charlotte.

Jimmy will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.

A private graveside service will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, at a local cemetery at 11:00 AM.

Mary Jo Hall (West) (1966)

I loved my Uncle Jimmy so much! He was my mom's younger brother. Loved his working at the College Park Post Office for decades. He always greeted us with a smile and kind comment.MaryJo (Hall) West CPHS '66

Ward Lawton (1954)

Mary Jo,, saw Jimmy many times at the post office.  Also, eat many hambergers at the lunch box next to the Park theater  One of the few left from the fifties from old CPHS.  Rest in Peace Jimmy.I know you had a wonderful home coming.   Remnat class of 1954 CPHS   Ward Lawton

Don Stockton (1953)

I started the first grade at SR with Jimmy in 1941 and, except for the two years I moved away, went to school with Jimmy until we graduated from CPHS in 1953.  He was one of my best friends all through those years.  I also ate many hamburgers at his dad's grill next to the Park Theater.  Rest in peace Jimmy.  You were one of the best!
